“Green” Wood
Green wood waste is not only a renewable organic material but is also one of the oldest and most prevalent energy resources. “Green” wood by definition is any wood that has recently been cut from a living source such as trees, shrubs, or brush.
Recycling green wood waste at a biomass power plant is carbon neutral and reduces greenhouse gases by displacing electricity generated from coal and preserves landfill space. Green wood waste is generated everyday under varying circumstances:
- As part of arbor operations such as utility line clearing, parks and recreation forest management, land clearing for development, and landscape projects.
- Natural disasters, caused by severe storms systems and tornados, generate large amounts of wood debris.
- Damaged wood caused by bug infestation or disease and or eradication of invasive species. MMR is MDEQ (Michigan Department of Environmental Quality) permitted and can guarantee disposal / recycling of compromised wood without negative environmental ramifications.
Unlike seasonal providers, MMR’s is available year round to respond to all your disposal / recycling needs. Our available services include: setting up a temporary Marshalling yards, onsite grinding and or transportation of already processed material. MMR also has the equipment and staff to manage incoming yard material from municipality trucks, contractors and residents at any one of our wood receiving yards.
Recycling your wood-waste allows you to make a positive impact on locally produced green power for residents of southern Michigan. Please join us in the effort to achieve greater energy independence by utilizing our services to accommodate all of your wood waste disposal needs.
